Wes Anderson and The Royal Tenenbaums
My favorite filmmaker of all time is Wes Anderson. His movies are delightful and full of life. One of my personal favorites is "The Royal Tenenbaums". They movie follows the Tenenbaum family through a time in their life and their familial struggles. I watch this movie all the time. When I first started studying film I wanted to find the director whose style I truly was inspired by. I had always loved the works of people like Sophia Coppola but I still need that perfect match. When I first started viewing Anderson's films I was immediately intrigued by the unique cinematic quality. "The Royal Tenenbaums" solidified my love for his aesthetics and I immersed myself in all of his films and background. I went to the store and bought tons of books about his life and his method of making the films. His auteur style has taught me so much and inspired the way I want to make films. He is loyal to his actors and portrays a variety of characters in very unique storylines. Recently, Anderson announced that he has begun working on his next film, "Isle of Dogs". The film is going to stop-motion similar to "Fantastic Mr. Fox" released in 2009. Although the later film was very family friendly "Isle of Dogs" will not be. The famous Japanese filmmaker Akira Kurosawa seems to be a key inspiration for Anderson in making this film. Based on his previous works "Isle of Dogs" is bound to be a hit with a different aesthetic and story that is unique to his brand. Wes Anderson has been a great influence for me and as I round the corner into a full-fledged career I will continue to look to his cinematic masterpieces to find guidance.
I love Wes Anderson! Fantastic Mr. Fox is my favorite movie of all time. His attention to detail and quality are what make his films stand out. I never knew any of these things about him, thank you for sharing!! I also love your admiration of Wes Anderson. I am definitely going to check out "The Royal Tannenbaums" now.
